Your post, although meaningful from a philosophical POV (and valuable from the perspective of helping people understand why we might desire change; from centralised to decentralised), is really important from a practical POV.

Speaking from personal experience, diving deep into things like WP29’s guidance on consent (and other lawful bases for processing data) was critical to my Data Trust by Design work. We need to focus on the entire ecosystem (behaviour, regulation and tech). Or in other words, we need to understand desirability, viability and feasibility criteria. And we need to dive deep into it. Will be very difficult to make meaningful progress on a daily basis if we don’t.
